Primary tabs

The Bronx County Historical Society is presenting a free public lecture series at the Valentine-Varian House, the Museum of Bronx History, located at 3266 Bainbridge Avenue in the Bronx. We will be attending the lecture "How the Bronx Happened: An Examination into the Historical Context of Bronx Development" which begins at 1:00 pm. We will begin our ride at Columbus Circle and continue North through Manhattan to the High Bridge where we will have lunch and continue North to Norwood where we will attend the lecture. Following the lecture, we will return to Columbus Circle via Mosholu Parkway, the Bronx River bike path, Starlight Park, Randall's Island, over the Ward's Island Bridge and down the Eastside Bike Path and across midtown to Columbus Circle.

The route has some inclines but not insurmountable for Happy Face riders. We will maintain the Happy Face pace of 8-10 mph on level ground. Bring lunch or money to purchase lunch, spare tube, or repair kit, helmet and bike in good working order.
Total mileage is 26+/- for the round trip. There will be many bail-out options along the way; including the #4 train at Mosholu Parkway, D train at 205th St, the #2 train at Allerton Ave & White Plains Rd or Pelham Parkway (with elevator), and #5 train at E 180th St.
