Four Reservations
Primary tabs

Straddling New Jersey's Watchung Mountains are a ring of reservations--undeveloped parklands--that make for some great riding with plenty of rolling hills and a few more challenging ones too, to keep it interesting.
We'll take the PATH to Newark and visit four of those reservations: Eagle Rock, Hilltop, South Mountain, and Watchung. Approximately 56 miles/3,300 feet of climbs, with a possible side trip to the abandoned 18th c. village of Feltville. And there's a surprisingly pleasant return route to Newark!
We will meet at 8:30 a.m. on the platform of the WTC PATH station where the train to Newark departs. We will take the 8:47 PATH train from WTC to Newark as a group.
Please be prepared to maintain 16 MPH on the flats; hills are at your own pace, regroup at the top. Lunch in Summit NJ, 30 miles and 2,000 feet of climbing into the ride. Those ready to call it a day after lunch can take the hourly NJ transit service from Summit to NY Penn Station.
Please bring two spare tubes and means to inflate, cue sheet holder and/or digital navigation (RidewithGPS gpx/tcx files available here), Metrocard for the PATH, and money for lunch/NJTransit/incidentals.
Thanks and looking forward!
