Begin the New Year by starting on your resolution to bike more.  On the far side of JFK there are the tiny Queens neighborhoods, if you can call them that, of Warnerville [two streets] and Meadowmere [a booming four streets].  We also cross a tiny footbridge to an island in Jamaica Bay that is the Nassau County hamlet of Meadowmere Park.  This area of the City feels cut off from the world - and yet is just minutes from the bustling Rockaway Turnpike.  Our lunch stop is the delicious Bay House.  On a good day the planes fly right overhead, so close that you can read the pilot's name tag.  This ride is for experienced urban cyclists.
