Finally, a bikeway crossing into the South Bronx at grade! And we'll be celebrating this along with a leisurely pre-Xmas Party ride through the peaceful calm and tranquil parklands of the East Bronx: Randalls and Ward islands, Port Morris, Soundview Park, Pugsley Creek, St. Raymonds Cemetery (an appropriate rest stop), Ferry Point Park, Maritme Industry Museum at Fort Schuyler, and Locust Point, where we'll dine al fresco under the Throgs Neck Bridge (superb Italian, at the Ice House). After lunch, some of us can take the subway on the return; the rest will backtrack to the city. Note: bring a good set of front and rear lights. Ride is most likely to end around dark, after 5PM.
