From the cobblestone streets of Red Hook to the Beer Barons of Bushwick, Brooklyn has had a significant impact on the American beer industry. And the beer industry has had a significant impact on the borough of Brooklyn.  One brewery we will visit actually had its own subway stop.  Brooklyn, especially Bushwick, was the brewing capital of America.  And then - Prohibition.   This ride takes us through various neighborhoods as we visit sites of historic breweries: Federal, Consumer's, Ulmer, Hittleman's, Leonhard Michel, Schaeffer and my namesake, Meltzer Bros.    Today, Brooklyn is again at the head of the pack with craft brewers Six Point, Brooklyn & Kelso.
