It’s hot!  And you cannot stop riding your bicycle?

This ride takes you outside the unforgiving heat of the 5 borough to the cooler East Side of the Hudson River from Poughkeepsie to Red Hook over to Rhinebeck.  Enjoy rolling hills, open fields, and shaded riding areas.  

There are several water and snack breaks. The lunch stop is in an old railroad car at the Historic Village Diner, http://www.historic-village-diner.com/, at 33 miles in Red Hook.

We are leaving early in the morning on the 7:43am train to Poughkeepsie (be at Grand Central before 7:30am) to enjoy a cooler morning ride. Feel free to come with your breakfast and a coffee.

Average speed is 14-16 mphs but we may make speed adjustments depending on weather and temperature. It is a moderate to advanced ride almost 63 mile ride with  62.9 an elevation gain of 2718 feet. Road and hybrid bikes only. 

Bring 2 backup tubes, Metro-North Bike Pass (you can buy it at Grand Central), bungee cord to tie your bike in the train, small lock, and cash for lunch.

Meeting time is 7:30 am at Grand Central (with your ticket to Poughkeepsie in your hand) to board the 7:43 am train to Poughkeepsie.  You can also board the train at 125 Street. Please, notify any of the leaders to let us know if you are planning to join at 125th Street.
