Beacon to Poughkeepsie via the Other Side
Primary tabs

Folks, due to circumstances of personal nature I won't be able to lead rides in the next couple of months. Therefore, I need to cancel my three April rides. I'm keeping my Summer rides on the calendar for now, I hope to be able to lead again then.
If anyone is interested in riding the routes there is a link to Ride with GPS route at the bottom of each ride page.
***
This is a 45 mile spring training ride. This time we start from the Beacon train station, cross the Hudson River over the Newburgh-Beacon bridge, meander around the other side of the river and end at the Poughkeepsie train station, crossing the river back over the Mid-Hudson bridge. Moderately hilly with some climbing, 2200 feet elevation gain, low to moderate traffic, pretty roads:) We'll try to keep 15mph pace on flats. Lunch is again at Cafe Mio in Gardiner at mile 24.
Grab breakfast in the morning and eat it on the train, there will be no food break until lunch.
We only ride if the chance of precipitation is negligible!
WHERE AND WHEN WE MEET
START: Beacon train station at 9:30AM.
END: Poughkeepsie train station. I'm aiming for 4:54PM train which arrives in NYC at 6:41PM but this is not guaranteed.
The meeting point for this ride is the Beacon train station. Riders need to get to Beacon on their own. If you need help with the trains download the Bikes on Metro North Trains PDF from here:

Take the 7:43AM train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie which arrives in Beacon at 9:14AM. We meet outside at the parking lot at the south end of the station at 9:30AM and we leave promptly at 9:45AM. Do not be late! Use the restrooms on th train, there are no restrooms at the Beacon train station!
