Fun Meandering — Brooklyn 'Hoods & Parks To Pop-Up Market

Sunday, January 11, 2015 - 10:15

We'll meander thru quiet & historic Brooklyn 'hoods, do a celebratory lap 'round Prospect Park, cut over to and thru Highland Park, then hightail it to the Brooklyn Pop-Up Market ( http://brooklynpopupmarket.com/ ) . This notable artisan market has recently evolved from a Clinton Hill outdoor and pre-holiday event to an indoor crafts/food/browsing emporium at the Bat Haus in Bushwick.

Free inaugural mimosas and live music 12-6 this Sunday , so of course we time our entry for nearabouts that start. Plenty of other selections for noshing and browsing. Then a short bike ride back to Manhattan via the 59th St. bridge (or take the "L" subway line).

All easy riding (mostly on quiet streets or bike lanes, but a few busy streets). Overall it's not impressively high mileage, but a fun cold winter ride, at a QUIK SPIN pace (16-17MPH) where we can. Prompt departure at ride start (too dang cold standing around to delay). Cross listed NYCC.

Cue sheet emailed to registered participants by Friday before the ride. Dress in layers. Any cancellation 'cuz of non-wise riding conditions will be posted by 8PM the night before.

BRING:  Appetite, sense of fun and curiosity, street-lockable bikes, lock, carrying capacity in case you're tempted to bring back local wares, NYC subway and bike maps (and the usuals, of course).
