Ever notice on a Manhattan map how many long, north-south oriented parks there are in the northern part? Come with us to visit them, and learn why, as 5BBC-member and Friends of Morningside Park President Brad Taylor tells us some of the history and geology at each park where we stop. We will also visit a gem of a community park that was once an illegal dumping site, see the home of a founding father that did an about-face, solve a riddle, and wind up at a cozy cafe a few blocks from the start, just in time for happy hour.

If you’d like to stay for dinner at the café (lurany.com) please let the ride leader know, as the proprietor would like to have some idea of how many of us there will be.

Note: there will be no lunch stop on this ride. Eat before you come, bring snacks, and/or wait and have some tapas at the cafe. Dress in layers and bring: water, lock, $ for cafe, lights if you will be riding home after the cafe, curiosity.
