Primary tabs

25 miles on a paved rail trail
Travel north & take in the green turning to gold.
Once upon a time, a long time ago, before there was a Metro-North, there was a New York Central, a powerful, multi-state railroad which built everything that Metro-North runs on in New York State, including Grand Central Terminal. When it was around, it's Haarlem Division, didn't stop at Wassaic. It continued up through Haarlem Valley and connected in Massachusetts with it's Berkshire Division. They had massive steam engines like the mighty Bershire locomotive running through sleepy little towns.
Today, there's a rail trail and those little hamlets and we're going ride that trail from Wassaic to Millerton, have a good country style lunch in that farming community and catch the green turning gold. Bring money for train tickets & lunch.
