Fritz and I were pooped after the Urban Farm Ride. We were sitting on a bench when Dave from SingleCut made his appearance - with kegs and growlers. We tried a few varieties of their beer - one more delicious than the next. We knew that we had to do a ride here. SingleCut Beersmiths is the first Brewery to open in Queens since Prohibition. They call their beer "obsessively brewed" and are devoted to being a great local brewery. No contract beers for SingleCut - everything is brewed right in Astoria. We ride to SingleCut to taste some amazing beers, support a local business, and to schmooze with our fellow cyclists. Food is available at SingleCut, and there will be music as well. The ride concludes at the Brewery - and there are subways nearby should you desire an alternate form of transportation home.
