TA Century Training Ride - The Putnam Trail

Sunday, August 31, 2014 - 08:00

Let's train for the NYC Century by riding the Putnam Trail to and from the Bronx to Carmel in a scenic, nearly car free, almost-100-mile route from Bronx to Carmel and back. We will ride up the Putnam trail, have lunch in Carmel, and turn around and ride back to Van Cortlandt Park. For those who want to roll that 100 on the cyclometer, optional leg back to Manhattan if time permits and there is sufficient remaining daylight upon our return to the Bronx. We will keep a 14-15 mph pace (we have alot of miles to cover and days are shorter at the end of August). Bring water, snacks, lunch or money for it, plus $ for train fare and an MTA Bike Permit in case we need to bail early. Meet at Van Cortlandt Park, last stop #1 train. We will leave promptly at 8 a.m. so please arrive 15 minutes prior for check in.
