Roosevelt Roam

Sunday, June 1, 2014 - 12:00

Our historical series continues with a Sunday afternoon tour of sites associated with our 26th and 32nd presidents.
Starting near the museum Teddy's father helped found, we will ride to his childhood home in the Flatiron District. We will stop to buy lunch before taking the tram to the island named for his fifth cousin Franklin, whose famous speech is memorialized at Four Freedoms Park – also a good place to picnic and enjoy the view. Our final site will be the former home of Franklin, Eleanor and Franklin’s mother Sara.
You can read more about the Roosevelt family here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roosevelt_family
