[cancelled from july 5 2014. hiding here to keep out of mischief}Easiest ride of the series. We’ll leave on an 8:15 AM ferry to Highlands, NJ – the northern tip of the famed Jersey Shore. We’ll explore the Henry Hudson Trail, from Leonardo to Matawan and back. After lunch in Ft. Monmouth, we’ll rejoin the trail at Belford, continue to Atlantic Highlands for a packed Popamora dirt trail to Highlands. A few miles in town, we’ll climb a bridge to Sandy Hook for picturesque cycling, with breathtaking passages on the bike trail, Cactus and Bunny Rabbits, historic Cold War missiles and the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean. We’ll take the ferry back to Manhattan by at least 17:00 (no guarantees, baby.) Be prepared to ride in potential hot weather. Please arrive to the start 15-30 minutes early, wear liberal amounts of sunscreen, bring two water bottles or hydration pack. Suggest a camera to remember the moments.
