We are moving the start time to 10:25 to allow time for the fog to burn off and dissipate. There are trains scheduled to arrive at Babylon at 10:21 and 10:25. We will start right after.  

Join us for a scenic autumn ride out to Oakdale. We will take lots of turns down to the Great South Bay, as weave up and down on our way to Oakdale with a potential stop at Hecksher.  Afterwards we ride to William Vanderbilt's mansion in Oakdale known as Idle Hour and will be joined by a special guest on the ride who can share some insights and history of Idle Hour and the Vanderbilts.  

In addition to going by some scenic areas along the shore, we will ride through the Connetquot State park on the bike path.  It is an advanced moderate ride where you need to maintain at least 14mph on flats. The ride meanders at times as we explore, so we won't always being doing a full pace, but there will be times when we will, especially on the way back to Babylon.

The ride meets at the Babylon LIRR train station.  A train from the City arrives at 9:50 AM and we will leave right afterwards.

Please bring your lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration, as it is very unlikely that we will stop to pick up food. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore.
