This ride heads to the back roads & towns of southern NJ (home of the legendary creature"Jersey Devil" said to inhabit the Pine Barrens). Nicely covering the flatlands of Middlesex, Monmouth & Ocean counties plus the towns of new Canton (aka Cabbagetown), historic Wainford & our most southern point- New Egypt - return via Cream Ridge. The rest stop will be at Tootie's, mile 30. And if time permits, let's stop at Gil & Bert's ice cream in Cranford, a favorite end to rides in this area. This ride will be at an advanced moderate pace. We expect to ride at least 15 mph on the flat roads. There will be stops to admire and take pictures at the many horse farms in this area.

Riders who wish to drive to the start of the ride can park their car at the Princeton Junction train station, the cost to park in the parking lot is a few dollars for the day. To take a train to the start from Manhattan, New Jersey Transit has trains from Penn Station to Princeton Junction train station. There is one that leaves at 8:14 am and arrives at 9:29 am.

Before the ride, please check that your bicycle is in good mechanical condition.

Please bring a helmet (required), sunblock, some hydration, a spare tube and tools to change a flat tire, and a good attitude.
