The Blessing of the Bikes, a Cathedral tradition, is now in its 24th year. This special blessing ceremony celebrates the lives of bike riders and cycling in its many forms. All faiths (or lack thereof) are welcomed. A few kind words will be said and the bikes will be sprinkled with Holy Water. There is a moment of silence to remember those cyclists we've lost in the past year and a chance for everyone to ring their bells in celebration of cycling. Wear your usual cycling clothes and bring your bike inside the spectacular Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine for the 24th annual Blessing of the Bikes.

If you would like to join us we meet at Cunningham park at 7:15 am for a prompt departure at 7:30 am. The ride will be at an advanced moderate pace of 15 mph on the flats. The ceremony is wonderful but brief so it is important that we arrive on time. This will be a one-way trip, however, I will be returning to Queens after the event and anyone is welcome to join me.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride  Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so anyone wait-listed can move up and take the slot.  All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks, and a bike in good working condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.

THE RISK INVOLVED IN ANY ACTIVITY ON THE RIDE IS ASSUMED BY EACH INDIVIDUAL RIDER.
