Come join us as the summer season wraps up, for one of the flattest, almost century ride around. (Yes, the Seagull Century is flatter, but it's also much futher away --- in Maryland!). Our route has it's own versions of lovely. We're mostly in forested areas, or surrounded by farmlands, or on secondary roads. We are also passing a variety of towns, if you haven't been to them, now is your chance. Such as Cranbury, New Egypt, Cookstown, Brown Mills, New Lisbon, Pemberton, Hightstown, Allentown, and others. Expect pumpkins and other harvest and halloween decor, as well. And near the finish, we can celebrate with "Gil & Bert's homemade ice cream" in Cranbury, N.J.

We'll ride as a group (but no pacelining) at a moderate to advanced moderate pace. Emphasis will be on steady, consistent pedaling to get us over the miles enjoyably and safely. The RWGPS route will be sent to everyone in advance ot the ride. Ride limited to 8 riders + 2 leaders.

We'll be taking the 7:14 am NJT departure out of NY Penn Station to arrive at Princeton Junction at 8:26 am (let us know in advance if you plan to drive; plus if you've got room for any ride share; or plan to hop onto the train and join us at a different station along the train route). Yes, that's an early start, but we want to maximize our daylight hours. (FYI, parking cost at the train station is $6 for the day, and the ride both starts and ends there).

If the weather becomes questionable, leaders will make the call by 8 pm the night before if the ride is canceled. The rescheduled date will be October 20.

All riders should be aware of and abide by the club's COVID requirements, including masking up if within social distancing of others, indoors ( and on the train)

Bring your bike repair gear and spare tubes, hydration, and snacks. Though we are passing about 8 places to grab a snack and hydration, most are some distance from the next one, and these will be short stops to maximize biking time. There also aren't easy bails on this ride, nor plentiful bike shops, so like the Scouts . . . "be prepared". Please dress in layers for the weather, and if it is cold in the morning. Bring bicycle lights as who knows, good to be seen plus we may be back later than full daylight.  And it's good to dress in your brightest hi-viz colors, and/or wear a visibility vest.
