Bagels and Locks
Primary tabs
Enjoy a relaxed ride using mostly protected and separate bike lanes from Brooklyn to 5 Towns. We will take advantage of several local parks including the Jamaica Wildlife Reserve along the route to get out and explore. There's a wildlife reserve along the way and beachside boardwalks. Adverturesome riders can try some gravel trails at Shirley Chilsolm State Park. Our ride will take us to a street with a variety of food options, including bagels, pizza, ice cream, sushi, Middle Eastern, and grill type stuff for the carnivores. We can take our lunches to a nearby town park for outdoor, socially distant dining before heading back to Brooklyn. Trip distance is approxmitly 36 miles, mostly flat and suitable for new riders or those less comfortable with strret riding. Meet up in Brooklyn at the Avenue H stop on the Q train line at 9;30 or by the Comfort Inn at 3218 Emmons Ave at 10:00. Bring money for snacks and lunch, helmets, masks and a lock. If I can overcome my lack of tech skills I will post an actual cue sheet. Please note - this route was created in conjunction with Adventure Cycling Bike Your Park Day which is officially on Saturday. Ride will cancel if it's raining.
