Jones Beach—Ocean Parkway Coastal Greenway
Primary tabs

Exploratory ride, starting from a LIRR station devoted to check out this wonderful Nassau County, Long Island greenway to the sea. We’ll start on the Ellen Farrant Memorial Bikeway along the Wantagh State Parkway. Then head east to newly expanded Ocean Parkway Coastal Greenway Shared Path to Captree State Park & points between. This will be a Happy Face ride, maintaining a 10 mph pace. Leader will ride a sturdy touring road bike to maintain that pace. Note: be prepared for potential headwinds.
Ride a bicycle in good working condition.
Bring a) MTA Bicycle Permit b) sunscreen AND insect repellant c) snack and/or sandwich d) bungee cord to secure bike on train. Plus bring the usual spare tube, full water bottles, lights, helmet, your mask and sanitizer. Maybe a camera for photo taking. And one more thing: bring your fun attitude and your love for exploring.
The first 8 (eight, count ‘em, 8) people signed up gets an email with further details.
Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. Bring a spare tube. We'll still need to wear a face covering and keep social distance.
Ride could be canceled for bad weather; check your email before heading out.
