We Brake for Carrot Cake
Primary tabs

We will journey to The Bronx to the famous Lloyd's Carrot Cake store. If you have never been there, you are in for a treat, the best carrot cake in NYC, if not the world. Lloyd's has been in existence since the 1980s. The co-founder, Betty Campbell-Adams, passed away recently in December, but the carrot cake lives on. Here is a link with more background on Lloyd's - https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/27/nyregion/betty-campbell-adams-dead.html
This 22+ mile moderate-paced ride will start in Harlem, in the vicinity of Central Park. There is some climbing on this ride. If you cannot maintain 12 mph on flat terrain, please do not register for this ride.
It is winter, so dress appropriately. Bring pocket snacks to keep you fortified before we reach Lloyd's.
Please note that the ride leaders have volunteered to add this additional group to accommodate more riders. The ride leaders are familiar with most of the route sections, but have not pre-ridden this roiute in full; a flexible attitude on the part of the riders is therefore advised!
ALL CLUB COVID RULES WILL APPLY STRICTLY SO MAXIMUM 8 + 2 leaders per ride and you must have masks with you and maintain 6 feet distance at stops.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the registered riders. Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
