The Bayonne Bridge: Happy Face Edition

Shorter, slower, less hilly. A ride for the rest of us.

Othmar Ammann's 1931-vintage masterpiece connecting Bayonne and Staten Island was recently rebuilt with a raised road bed to accommodate taller ships. The bike/ped path reopened last year and is much improved.

This is the "happy face" version of our Bayonne Bridge ride. It will be shorter, slower, and less hilly (except, of course, for the bridge itself -- but we will wait for you at the top if you prefer to walk). We meet in Lower Manhattan for the SI Ferry (meeting place will be emailed to registered riders) and ride to the Bayonne Bridge, City of Bayonne, Port Liberte, Liberty State Park, and Jersey City. Lunch will be in Liberty State Park at an amazing location with views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Lower Manhattan. Bring your lunch or pick up from Liberty Park Cafe. Ride ends at Exchange Place in Jersey City with PATH or ferry back to Manhattan.
