Let’s ride to Piermont today but not via Route 9W.  We will ride on River Rd through Palisades Park which is mostly shady and cool and car-free in some sections.  Then we’ll ride through some scenic Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY towns and also along a section of the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail/Old Erie Path in Rockland County.  We will stop to pick up lunch (or you can bring your own) to carry with us to Piermont and we will find a shady outdoor spot to eat.  We can then visit the nearby Piermont Farmers' Market to view or shop their goods before riding back to NYC.  It will be hot so we will make occasional stops in shady spots to regroup, hydrate and rest, including at the Farm Cafe in Closter, NJ. (There will be some hill climbing to get over the Palisades in both directions.) 

The ride will start and end in Manhattan. A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the first eight riders who have registered.  Please 'unregister' and email sarit5bbc@gmail.com if you can not make the ride so wait-listed folks can move up and take the slot.
