For New York Mets fans, no name inspires more reverence or respect than Tom Seaver. From his debut in 1967 "The Franchise"  has received just about every accolade under the sun: number 41 retired by the Mets in 1988, inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992, and finishing his career with the sixth most strikeouts in major league history. Seaver was the embodiment of greatness and poise in a Mets uniform, and remains a hero to an entire generation who grew up in the 1960's and 1970's.

We'll ride to Citifield in Flushing, Queens, stopping for photos at the business entrace to Citifield, which is officially 41 Seaver Way. The Mets are home this day against Altanta, but it's an evening start and it's unlikely players will be at the stadium when we get there. But you never know. At the corner of the ballpark is Mikkeller Brewery, which has reasonably good food, although almost certainly we won't be able to sit inside. We'll have lunch at Corona Park, and figure out the details of where to get food as the time gets closer. 

Because Tom Seaver was a broadcaster for the Yankees after his playing career is over, Yankees fans are permitted on this ride. However, under no circumstances are Philadelphia Phillies fans permitted. Don't even ask.
