The Tavern is saved!  The Queens Chamber of Commerce made an agreement with the owner of Neir's and Neir's is here to stay!  And a special warm welcome greeting to Bob Moleti who will lead part of the ride from Forest Park to Neir's Tavern.  

Join us as we ride from Cunningham Park through majestic Jamaica Estates, stopping at Captain Tilly Park with it's beautiful wildlife pond then ride through Forest Park to Neir's Tavern, then to Forest Hills to Eddie's Sweet Shop for the best ice cream sundaes in town.  Eddie's is NYC's oldest ice cream parlor.

Nier's Tavern which was founded in 1829.   Neirs is among the oldest and most historic bars in the country. Neir's is one of the few old drinking establishments that have been in almost continuous operation (Prohibition notwithstanding) and in the same location, for its entire history. Neir’s is known as the tavern where Mae West first performed, where actors such as W.C. Fields and businessmen like Fred Trump (Donald’s father) would gather for a drink. It has also gained fame as the bar in which the classic Martin Scorsese film,Goodfellas, starring Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta and Lorraine Bracco, was filmed. Tower Heist ) movie starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Tea Leoni & Alan Alda was filmed here and fall of 2013 CBS 60 minutes interview notorious ex-mobster John Alite aka John “Aletto” (from Gambino and Gotti associations) at Neirs.  It has a restored 150 year old mahogany bar and amongst other things, a tribute alcove to Mae West.
