NJ (In)famous Marsh- Meadowlands/ Richard W. DeKorte Park Ride
Primary tabs

Discover the diverse eco-system in the Meadowlands. Once known for being a dumping ground for waste, this urban wetland area has gone through major conservation efforts to preserve environmentally valuable land. We will take a moderately paced ride (12 to 15 mph) from George Washington Bus Terminal to Richard W. Dekorte Park in Lyndhurst, NJ, part of the Meadowlands District park system. Once at the park, we can explore the various walking paths, bird-watch, and view the wetlands, waterways, and NYC skyline. Shortly after departing the park, we will grab lunch at mile 21. NJ communities traveled through include Fort Lee, Palisades Park, Little Ferry, Moonachie, Wood-Ridge, Carlstadt, Rutherford, and Lyndhurst. Please bring an inner tube, air pump, water, snacks, and money for lunch. There will be approximately 1500 feet of climbing spread throughout the 35 miles.
