UPDATE: Basta with the rain and wind.  Anyway, the forecasts for tomorrow ride are a bit all over the place, from rain to intermittent showers, but they all agree there will be some wet stuff.  So, what to do?  If the ride was in the City with lots of bail out options, I’d go on with the ride.  But, given the travel time to the start and the limited bail out options, I think it is best to cancel and reschedule at some point.

Come join us for a brand new 5BBC ride. We ride from the Ronkonkoma train station south and then east to Smith Point and the location of the TWA Flight 800 Memorial on part of the barrier islands that include Fire Island.  Some scenic new areas on this 55 or so mile, fairly flat ride ride.  This is the ride to perhaps push your distance without too many hills (less than 900 feet of elevation gain on the whole ride).

The Ride meets by the ticket machines on the south side of the Ronkonkoma train station, at the center of the large parking lot (it is a very, very large parking lot and there is another lot on the north side).  Meet time is 10:30ish, as there is a train arriving from the City at 10:35.

Please register and if you have questions email me at daytrips@5bbc.org. Bring snacks, hydration, a light lock, lunch or money for a lunch stop and an inquisitive exploring attitude.

55ish
