Exploratory SCOUT RIDE around Sprain Ridge MTB Trails.
Primary tabs

Please be advised, that this ride will be exploring the mountain bike trails in Sprain Ridge Park, and they are ONLY suitable for Mountain Bikes. there will be rocks, roots, mud, and possibly slippery conditions.
That being said, If you want to explore the trails of Sprain Ridge, one of the BEST mountain biking areas within riding distance of NYC, then lets go have some fun!! The trail system is maintained by the Westchester Mountain Biking Association ( http://wmba.org/?page_id=62 ) and are very well kept, and marked. they range from advanced beginner, to expert, with many features and challenges. we will be taking the Old Putnam Trail to the South County Trailway to get up there, riding and exploring the trails, and then we can catch the Metro North back home From the Hastings-on-Hudson Station. There are NO LUNCH stops in the park, so make sure to pack what you need to eat until we get to Hastings-on-Hudson. also, as we will be off the beaten path, make sure you bring spare tubes, lights, your Helmet (and whatever other protective gear you personally want) and water. The park is approx. 13.5 miles away from Van Cortland, and there are approx. 8 miles of trails within the park.
Please E-mail me for start time and location, just to make sure we keep the group manageable. make sure to register here as well!
