A Broken Bridge, Graffiti and Parks

Saturday, October 28, 2017 - 10:00

The ride starts at 10:00 am by Queens Borough Plaza North and Crescent street

Kosciuszko Bridge was demolished on late September but the remains of the bridge are still there and surprisingly intact. Come join us for a fun, fairly flat 35 mile ride that combines a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a fallen bridge, view some graffiti, and catch a view of Little Neck Bay along Cross Island Parkway.  We will also pass through Crocheron, Kissena and Flushing Meadows Corona Park that has plenty 1936/1963 world expo remnants.

Please note that because Joe Michael's Mile Greenway has a section that is currently closed due to renovation we will have to cross the Cross Island Parkway over pedestrian bridge that has steps. No climbing gear will be needed but be prepared to carry your bike up and down some steps to get over the highway on a pedestrian overpass. The steps are not steep at all. I’m taking my 12 years old son on the ride who will be more than capable to do this on his own.

All of my rides are kids friendly (10 years old and up, one adult guardian per child) so bring your children along if you think they will enjoy the experience.

Please register for the ride and bring the usual including helmets, spare tube, snacks, hydration, lunch or money for lunch and positive attitude.
