***NOTE FROM LEADERS: We have pushed the ride back an hour to start at 10am and give people more time to get to the start. We will also pick people up on the other side of the GWB so that those who chose to drive have more parking options if they can't find parking on the Manhattan side. Note that the route up the Hudson on the Jersey side is not very rideable so we will be stopping the ride at various return points to Manhattan - coming by car, you will have to complete the circle on your town to return to your vehicle. Please keep checking back here for updates. We have negotiated a group rate of $4, down from the standard of $6 for adults and $5 for seniors. No tour guide is available but we can self-guide. I have been wanting to do this for a long time - every since my first of multiple times doing Bill Mastro's "A bit of Brooklyn, A bit of Baseball" which I HOPE he runs again in 2017.

Join us for a ride to the Garden State and you just might see a famous baseball player's Garden. And a field named for another.

The major destination of this ride is the Yogi Berra Museum in Montclair. But we will also include the falls in Paterson to honor Larry Doby - the first to break the color barrier in the American League.

We will also see other meaningful baseball locales in our neighbour to the west including Yogi's home where he gave rise to another famous Yogism describing how to get there.

"When you get to the fork in the road, take it!". In this place you literally can!! Because, apparenty, all forks lead to his home! And we will end near the park where the first ever professional game was played.

I decided to classify this a "training series ride" because the full ride is 50-60 miles with drop off options at 20, 30 and 40 miles.
