We'll ride a straight 65 mile Northward to the riverfront town of Peekskill. It's a steady incline and then a few hills and about 15 miles to Peekskill. Luckily after these hills you'll  be rewarded with a quaint and cozy brew pub on the water -Peekskill Brewery! - right across the street from the train station. We'll take the Metro-North home. So bring your bike pass! Also bring the usual: water(2 bottles), extra tube and/or patch kit, $ for lunch and train ride home.   Also, bring snacks- nuts, granola bars, or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich etc. because there is no lunch stop until Peekskill.  We should get there by 3 for a late lunch early dinner and be on the 4:21 express train home arriving by 5:30 back at Grand Central- if all goes according to plans.  Also, please note that there are no bailouts once we get onto the trail- which is about 40 miles straight. Looking forward to seeing you bright and early!

Please note- Although most of the ride is paved, there is a short section at the beginning, on the Old Putnam Trail, in the Bronx, that is packed dirt and may be muddy depending on the rain fall conditions. For this reason, it is recommended that you ride a bike with 25mm or wider tires for this ride. Thanks!
