Steve Levine Memorial Ride
Primary tabs
At about this time last year, we lost an amazing, wonderful, great man. Steve Levine was a 5BBC ride leader, but so much more than that. The leaders of this ride (Bill and Geoff) took the leadership course together with Steve a number of years back. We bonded with a mutual love of biking, the Mets, NYC history, Tom Leher and for Bill, also the important role of baseball in our relationships with our children. There are far too few mensches in this world, and Steve was one of the best. We honor him with this memorial ride.
As noted, Steve was a true, true Mets fan and we will ride by Citifield. Quite a number of Steve's friends from the Club contributed to a memorial brick in Steve's honor at Citifield (and in true Mets style, that Steve would love, one letter in the brick is incorrect). We will stop by and say a few words to honor Steve's memory. Afterwards, we will ride from Citifield to Flushing Meadow Park and then to kosher pizza/falfel place near Queens College, before heading back to Prospect Park. Along with the usual bike stuff, locks, money for lunch, etc. please bring your memories of a truly good hearted man, who was filled with passion, caring, love and humor. Or if you didn't know Steve, still join us (he was very inclusive ) and share in the memory of this special man.
