Keep it UP and UP to go all the way down...
Primary tabs

This ride has both rolling hills and some steep climbing, which you can do at your comfort speed. You rewarded with some exciting downhills on shaded roads. We head on the backroads of Bear Mountains to Concord where we have lunch at the Cornerstone Cafe (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cornerstone-restaurant-congers) at 25 mile. One more brief stop to fuel up on sugar, caffeine or H20 before we take lesser travelled backroads (including the Walnut Street Climb) from Piermont into Manhattan.
Average speed is 14-16 mphs but we may make speed adjustments depending on temperature and the group. It is an advanced ride with 51.8 miles and an elevation gain of 3,132 feet. Road and hybrid bikes only.
Bring 2 backup tubes, Metro-North Bike Pass (you can buy it at Grand Central), bungee cord to tie your bike in the train, small lock, and cash for lunch.
Meeting time is 8:30 am at Grand Central (with your ticket to Cold Springs in your hand). We board the 8:43 am train to Cold Springs. You can also board the train at 125 Street. Please, notify any of the leaders to let us know if you are planning to do that.
Quick tip: You can order your MTA North ticket online at http://web.mta.info/mnr/html/ticket_intro.htm to save on $ and time.
